SL schools budget seeks to hold line on taxes

The Storm Lake Community Schools’ preliminary budget for 2020-21 would hold the tax levy rate steady at $17.17 per $1,000 property valuation, up only a small fraction of a penny. A “main goal’ for the budgeting process was to avoid a tax increase, leaders said. However, the income surtax rate would increase, from 4% to 5%.
