The issues behind this are many, and sometimes complicated, but are people getting the right foods to stay healthy? You can have a daily abundance in food supplies, but will it lean too heavy on carbs, sweets, and fried foods, that well-meaning suppliers will put in with healthier choices, just to make sure there is enough to meet demand?
