COVID funding helps district projects, $1M left

The Alta-Aurelia school district had over a million dollars remaining in COVID relief funds as of the most recent accounting, district officials were told this week.
Some of the COVID funding has been used toward projects such as starting the 3-year-old preschool program, networking the district to better prepare for distance learning, summer programming and addition of two playgrounds.
Some additional ideas remain possibilities, including air conditioning for some classroom areas and gym areas that have never had it. School districts were given two years to spend the aid. AA school officials noted that some have already expended all their funding.
