POCAHONTAS/BATTLE CREEK - The Ridge View softball team put on an offensive showcase on Tuesday night against Pocahontas Area. Sixteen hits led to 15 runs in a 15-2 contest. PAC held a 1-0 lead after the first inning. RV scored twice in the third to take the lead and never let up. Two more runs in the fourth made it 4-1. The Raptors plated six in the fifth, PAC scoring once, to make it 10-2 going to the sixth. Five more Ridge View runs pushed it to 15-2...

SPENCER - The Sioux Central softball team was blanked on Monday night against the Spencer Tigers in a 3-0 contest. Spencer scored once in the second and twice more in the third. “Spencer has a nice softball team and this was a good contest for us. We had girls in scoring position a couple times but we just didn’t get the hit we needed to push them across home plate,” Rebel Coach Kasey Krager said. “Their pitcher pitched a good game and kept our hitters at bay.”...

FONDA - The game on Monday night between Newell-Fonda and Estherville-Lincoln Central was said to have a playoff feel to it as the two teams battled. The Mustangs were able to keep their perfect season alive after taking a 4-2 contest over the Midgets...

HOLSTEIN - Monday night saw Ridge View play in the Western Valley Conference tournament against River Valley. The Raptors were able to take a 5-2 contest before the game was called off due to the weather. The Raptors broke open a scoreless game in the bottom of the third with a run and then added two more in the fourth to go up 5-0. River Valley plated two in the top of the fifth as the weather came in and soon saw the game end...

SPENCER/POCAHONTAS/PETERSON - It was a tight one on Monday night between Sioux Central and Spencer. Neither squad gave up much on defense, but two Tiger runs proved to be the difference in a 2-0 setback for the Rebels. The Spencer runs came in the first and the fourth innings...

EMMETSBURG - The Storm Lake baseball team shook off an unusual shakey start from Mark Eddie on Monday night against Emmetsburg. The green and white flexed some offensive muscle with a 13 run effort, taking a 13-1 decision in just five innings. Storm Lake got a run in the top of the first as Eddie was roughed up in the bottom of the first, loading the bases with no outs. ...
