$30,000 Spectacular goal for entertainment

Fundraising has begun for the 2019 Star Spangled Spectacular. This year’s theme is “Coming Home” and events and activities take place July 3-4, free of charge. Fundraising Co-chairs Matt Brostad and Josh Newhouse, with assistance from their daughters, prepared a mailing of 700 letters sent out to residents and businesses asking for donations for this year’s event. Campground RV yields cache of drugs

A simple call over a rude camper last Friday night has led police to a drug bust. Officers were called to the Sunrise Pointe Campground around 9:15 p.m. for a dispute with a camper repaortedly being rude to the campgrounds manager. Officers made contact with William Rysavy, age 40 of Storm Lake, and observed Karen Kleet, age 52 of Storm Lake, also at the campsite.
