Grant aids ballfield improvement

The City of Alta Park Board received a grant from the Buena Vista County Community Foundation in the spring of 2017. The grant, in the amount of $2,550, was used to purchase 57 sections of an 80-foot fence topper. The Alta Ballfield Sign Committee also helped finance the fence topper. In April, the Alta-Aurelia High School students attached the fence topper to the fences. They were a major help, and we couldn’t have done it without them...

Upon arrival of police they located and arrested Ricardo Juarez, age 24 of Storm Lake, who was wanted out of Buena Vista County on a warrant charging him with Contempt of Court. Juarez was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail and held without bond.
