Hanover Village receives ILEC grant, prepares for annual festival
The Hanover Historical Society was awarded a $4000 grant by Iowa Lakes Electric Cooperative Charitable Foundation from its Round Up program to install electric service to the Hanover Village barn. The illumination will make the displays and their descriptions more visible and is a safety factor. The electrical work was done by Power Solutions, Alta. Iowa Lakes Electric Cooperative also assisted in the installation of an outdoor security light on the grounds.
The Hanover Historical Society is gearing up to celebrate its 25th year of organization. The Annual Festival returns on Sunday, August 29 from Noon to 7 p.m. Bands on the schedule are Malek’s Fishermen providing toe-tapping polka music and the area’s popular Expressions. This family-friendly event provides an insight to the life and work in the Hanover Village’s hey-day.
