United Bank of Iowa donates to Alta-Aurelia school backpack program
United Bank of Iowa recently donated $2,437 to the Alta-Aurelia School Backpack Program. The donation will provide weekend meals and snacks for students. This money was raised during United Bank of Iowa’s UNITED TOGETHER Makes the Difference Community Cause Day.
The goal of United Bank of Iowa’s Cause Day effort is to give employees the opportunity to make a difference and support people in need in the communities the bank serves. On the second and fourth Fridays each month, UBI employees from all 35 locations have the option to donate $5.00 to wear their UNITED TOGETHER T-shirts with jeans to work. The bank matches the employee donations up to $1,000 and the total is donated to one cause, randomly drawn from suggestions from all 35 locations.
The Alta-Aurelia School Backpack Program was the lucky recipient of United Bank of Iowa’s February 12, 2021, Cause Day donation. United Bank of Iowa employees presenting the check are Doug Svendsen, Tracy Simons, Julie Hahn, Angelique Anderson, and Jessica Sechler. Sherie Van Berkum from the Alta-Aurelia School Backpack Program accepted the donation.
Since September, 2020, United Bank of Iowa has donated $22,987 to ten causes in their market area through this Cause Day effort. For more information, go to www.unitedbk.bank.
