Park Board looks to fill summer positions
The Alta Park Board recently went over contracts to hire a swimming pool manager, ball programs director and concessions manager for the coming season, with plans to begin the search process this month.
Lifeguards for the pool continue to be a concern, with the pool forced to close at times last season for lack of trained staff. The park board is considering whether to require a manager to be certified for lifeguarding. The board encourages anyone interested in lifeguarding to contact city hall for an application.
The pool was recently inspected and is in good shape. The park board has recently obtained a spare pump motor to prevent any potential down time.
Anyone interested in volunteering to help with pool operation, ballfields or concessions is also encouraged to contact a park board member.
Randy Erickson has announced plans to step down from the chairperson’s position, but will continue to serve on the board, which was to meet this week.
