The 23rd Annual Hanover Festival will be held on Sunday, August 25, Noon to 7 p.m. at the Hanover Village southwest of Alta at the intersection of M-27 and C-65. This end-of-summer event celebrates the rural heritage of the area with entertainment, learning opportunities, food, and comradery for all ages. Headlining the entertainment will be Karl and the Country Dutchmen Band, a favorite for dancing and listening enjoyment, and the Nate Fredrickson Band from Sleepy Eye, MN, a new comer to the Festival.
The Hanover Village is comprised of 11 restored buildings and a saw mill filled with displays depicting rural life in earlier years. Throughout the grounds there will be working demonstrations of yesteryear’s farm machinery and domestic crafts. What an educational opportunity for the younger generations. Special activities are planned for children. Delicious sandwiches, homemade pies and ice cream are on the menu.
Admission is $10 with children 14 and under free; there is also free parking. Bring your lawn and enjoy the event. No pets or coolers, please.
