BV Equine Team learns from local horse expert

The 4-H BV Equine Team kicks-off the year learning from horse expert Dr. Steve Mead. Dr. Mead is a retired veterinarian and 4-H volunteer from Storm Lake, who generously shares his time and knowledge with youth wanting to learn more about equine.

The 4-H BV Equine Team meets monthly during the winter months to gain knowledge on horse husbandry with topics like: nutrition and health care, various tack option, different riding styles, hoof care and shoeing, grooming, safety and horse management.

During the spring and summer the 4-H BV Equine Team meets weekly to ride and improve their horsemanship skills.
