I'm going to expose you all to a three part series; “Best Version of Yourself”. I pondered the thought of just doing one blog on the subject, and quickly came to terms with the fact that I'd be doing myself, and everyone else an injustice. I've been very fortunate to be in the same company as some of the brightest people our great country has to offer. I tend to harness my own inner strength and drive with a combination of lessons learned and inspiration I've gathered from these amazing people over the years.
Over the next three weeks I'll reveal to you what it truly means to become the best version of yourself. In Part 1 I'll talk about the fuel we need to succeed, proper maintenance, and the horsepower needed to start this process. This series will not only empower you, it will equip you with the skill set to empower an entire organization. After all, it's my life's work to change the world one vision at a time.
On any typical morning, you could choose to skip breakfast. Then, as mid morning comes around, that quick fix (mostly sugar) snack is almost needed at that point. Some of us probably make this a daily occurrence, and mark it up as “it's convenient.” The irony of this practice is on the way to work that morning, you stopped for gas, and you actually put fuel in your tank. Why is this ironic, well if given the chance to pick between fuel and trash, I'm pretty sure we'd always choose fuel. Absolute craziness, I know. You mean to tell me, you put fuel in your car, and it performs? Now I'm hoping you see the neglect here. Not on your car, it's good to go, full of fuel and ready to perform. Who has been forgotten in this equation, oh that's right, YOU.
It's so important to think of daily nutrition with this mind set. If we want our minds and bodies to perform throughout the day, we need to make right decisions. I'm confident once you've read all three parts of this series, you'll feel like a high performance luxury sports car. Now however, let's call it what it is. Most of us probably don't feel like Ferrari's. Good news, that can all change. It can change when you decide to start becoming a better version of yourself.
Let's fast forward and turn our attention to the Ferrari's of the world. You would think working hard your whole life, and overcoming obstacles would be enough to keep that Ferrari in the garage, right?
Wrong. It's the toxic complexities of always making sure the engine oil is pristine, and the resiliency we must have instilled in us when that Ferrari breaks down. It's at this level in life that some of the most successful people in the world can't hang. They can't handle the horsepower, and they're not willing to do what it takes to keep that engine at peak performance.
We need to do whatever it takes to fuel ourselves properly. Your body is that Ferrari engine if you maintain it, and treat it right. We're all equipped to perform like a Ferrari. The secret here is very simple, and should give you a clear vision on what becoming a better version of yourself is truly about.
It's fueling your body each and every day, through nutritional needs and mental clarity. It's having the inner horsepower to power through life's obstacles. Most importantly, it's about that constant maintenance needed to keep our Ferrari's performing at the highest levels.
Life is hard, and if you attack each day by properly preparing yourself, you'll start to forge that mental clarity needed for greatness. Then, when you are that Ferrari, you'll be ready to perform like you've never performed before. The most important thing I need to stress to you is; once you achieve that, that's when the real work begins. Don't be broken down on the side of the road, and never forget what it took to get there.
Please let this soak in for awhile. This will prepare you all for the next two parts of my series. Just let your mind adapt, and let's start working on rewiring each other to be the best versions of ourselves.
