Students inducted into National Honor Society

A new crop of students were inducted into the Alta-Aurelia National Honor Society (NHS) at a March 8th ceremony.
“We have some really great students at Alta-Aurelia, and those who applied and were selected for NHS have effectively demonstrated the four pillars of NHS: scholarship, leadership, service, and character,” A-A NHS Advisor Jennifer Radke said. She teaches English at the high school.
The NHS is a nationwide organization for high school students that was established in 1921. According to the nhs.us website, chapter membership not only recognizes students for their accomplishments, but challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service.

“We are looking forward to doing some service projects this spring, including a school-wide blood drive, and some activities during National Student Leadership Week,” Radke said.
