Buena Vista University graduate Lindsay Peoples Wagner has been named one of the Most influential African Americans of 2020 by The Root news organization.

Peoples is the youngest editor-in-chief in the history of Conde Nast publications. According to The Root, Peoples Wagner has used her platform as editor of Teen Vogue since 2008 to draw attention to issues of inclusivity, as well as openly sharing her own experiences of marginalization as a black woman in the fashion industry. This year, Peoples Wagner co-launched the Black in Fashion Council, and pledged to hold the industry accountable to its statements of support for Black Lives Matter.

Peoples, 29, is a 2012 graduate of BVU now residing in Brooklyn, NY. She has also been honored in Forbes’ “30 Under 30” list for media in 2020, cited for bolstering coverage of politics, inclusion and health in addition to culture and fashion.
