Alta-Aurelia school system ends contract with local company
The Alta-Aurelia Community School District Board of Director called a special meeting October 30 at 7 a.m. to discuss the lease program on the school system’s copiers. The board decided a special meeting was necessary should they decide to break the lease of the current copier machine provider and go with a new company. The reasoning behind this was, in order to get out of the current lease, the board would have to give the lease holder 60 days advanced notice. The new contract will start in January and by this reasoning, the board had to give the notice before November of this year.
Two items were on the agenda for the special meeting, they were a presentation by a third company bidding for the copier/lease contract with the school system and approving a new lease with a company the board is not currently in contract with.,Access Systems/IT Business Solutions.
“We are going to go with the proposal from Access Systems,” said Alta-Aurelia Business Manager, Vicki Kolpin. “We had a another proposal presented this morning and between the two, (the board) decided on Access.”
In the aforementioned presentation to the board, Counsel Technology Company demonstrated what they could provide for the schools and gave an estimate on cost. The board considered the proposal and decided to go with the original contender, Access.
The next scheduled Alta-Aurelia School Board of Directors meeting is scheduled for November 6 at 6 p.m. in the Alta City Board Room.
