The Iowa FFA Ag Impact Leadership Event was held at Iowa State University, Ames, on Monday, April 15, 2019. Eleven chapters participated in this year’s Career Development Event (CDE).

Ag Impact is a CDE that challenges Middle School FFA members to explore the importance of agriculture in our state, county, and communities. This event is designed to engage middle schools students in learning how the industry of agriculture affects their daily lives. Learning activities should focus on: agricultural literacy, career exploration, personal development, and integration of academics. The Iowa FFA Ag Impact CDE was made possible with support from CF Industries through the Iowa FFA Foundation.

John Heitman, Sydney Hurd, Lane Carlson, John Ching, and Bennett Smith represented Storm Lake FFA in this competitive area. They were proud to bring home a Gold rating from the event.

Eleven members of the Storm Lake FFA chapter attended State Convention April 14-16 in Ames, Iowa. Kendall Snyder and Chase Hurd served as voting delegates representing Storm Lake FFA.

Other members enjoyed general sessions, keynote speakers, a trade show, workshops and fun night at the Memorial Union on ISU Campus.
