WEL-LIFE welcomes Teresa Nothwehr to the team
WEL-Life at Alta and Kismet ALT-A, LLC, are proud to announce Teresa Nothwehr has joined the community as the new executive director for WEL-Life’s assisted living community, with 44 apartments and a specialized memory care unit.
Nothwehr most recently served as the director of development for Buena Vista University for 24 years.
“My husband’s grandparents resided in WEL-Life many years ago and had a wonderful experience. I became familiar with the facility and the great services,” said Nothwehr, attracting her to the leadership role at WEL-Life’s Alta location.
The new executive director is a Storm Lake resident and graduate of Buena Vista University.
In her first few days on the job, she has enjoyed meeting the staff, residents and their families. Her immediate goals include maintaining high satisfaction within the community. “I hope to continue to provide exceptional care to the residents and to foster a friendly, welcoming environment for the residents, their families, the staff and the community,” she said.
Her professional background at an institution of higher learning brings a fresh perspective to the assisted living community, said Cal Lout, vice president of operations for Lantis Enterprises, the consulting management company for ownership company Kismet ALT-A, LLC.
“Her calm and friendly personality will provide stability,” Lout said. “Teresa has jumped right into her new role learning the assisted living environment. She already got to experience an inspection from the state of Iowa, which occurs every two years.”
Late last year, operation of WEL-Life at Alta was transferred from Welcov Healthcare of Edina, MN, to Kismet ALT-A, LLC.
In 1972 Will and Mary Ellen Lantis began a journey in long term care. They were in healthcare for 40 years, raising their four children into the caring business. All were raised in the Midwest under the principles of hard work, integrity and honesty. After a brief respite, Lantis Enterprises Inc., the management consulting company, is back. Together, with Kismet, the mission is to enhance the lives of those served by providing quality care with respect, dignity and kindness.
