Alta Kiwanis Notes

Suzette Radke spoke to us about new and innovative happenings at BVU. The Education for Service Scholars will offer 10 full-term scholarships for students from Buena Vista Co.  Five students have to be from Storm Lake. Forum built in 1987 has undergone a transformation thanks to a $5.7 million donation.  Renovations began after Memorial Day include an elevator, student lounges with fireplaces, the Cru5h restaurant, and a game room.

Other additions include a center for Ag business and Ag science classes, three new tennis courts and in the library combining a tech center and study area all in one. 

Other facts:  New President Josh Merchant in his second year. Enrollment: 750 on campus plus 16 satellite campus in other communities bringing total enrollment to 2,000+. ist. wedding takes place this year.

Kiwanis business:  Mar. 8---  Next pop can collection.

Mar. 10---  Kiwanis Pancake Fundraiser at Alta School Cafeteria. 10am-1pm

Mar. 19-- Board Metting

Motion made and seconded to make a donation to two students NASA trip.
