On the morning of Thursday, February 7, at approximately 3 a.m. a Storm Lake Police Officer stopped a vehicle in the 1100 block of West 5th Street for a traffic offense.

Upon contacting the driver identified as Patriona Haynes, age 18 of Storm Lake police allege they found Haynes to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and could smell the odor of marijuana coming from her vehicle.

Following an investigation the SLPD arrested Haynes and charged her with Possession of Drug paraphernalia (simple misdemeanor). She was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $300 bond.

On the afternoon of Tuesday, February 5, at approximately 1 p.m. the Storm Lake Police Department was dispatched to the Storm Lake Middle School in reference to a student causing a disturbance.

Upon arrival of police they met with school staff who alleged that a 12 year old male of Storm Lake became agitated at the school and caused a disturbance by shouting obscenities and acting in aggressive manner.

Police took the juvenile into custody and following an investigation charged him with Disorderly Conduct (simple misdemeanor). He was processed and released to a parent pending a court date.
