Charles Wadsley December 8, 1926 - November 30, 2018
Charles (Chuck) Joel Wadsley, age 91, of Nemaha, passed away on Friday, November 30, at Park View Rehabilitation Center in Sac City.
Funeral Services were held on Friday, December 7, at 11 a.m. at the Storm Lake United Methodist Church in Storm Lake, with Rev. Phil Webb officiating. Burial took place at Delaware Township Cemetery in Nemaha. Farber & Otteman Funeral Home of Sac City, is in charge of arrangements. Visitation was held on Thursday December 6, from 4 - 7 p.m. at Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Sac City.
Charles (Chuck) J. Wadsley was born on December 8, 1926, in Sioux City. He joined his adoptive family Charles Clarence and Florence (Cober) Wadsley at 2 Ĺ months old. He was baptized and confirmed at the Nemaha United Methodist Church. Chuck attended grade school at Delaware Township Consolidated School and graduated high school with the class of 1944. After graduation, he enlisted and served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in November 1946. Chuck was united in marriage to Marjorie I. Noll on June 5, 1949, at the Ida Grove United Methodist Church. They were blessed with six wonderful children: Kathryn, Joseph, Shirlee, Lona, C. Alan and Roy.
Chuck was a farmer and a jack of all trades. He attended church regularly at the United Methodist Church in Storm Lake, and was part of the Buena Vista Barbershop Chorus and enjoyed singing in many Barbershop quartets. Chuck was a member of the neighborhood card club, Sac County Republicanís Committee, Airstream and Good Samís Clubs. He and his wife enjoyed camping regularly in their airstream. Chuck also enjoyed going antiquing, designing his house, grainery, fabricating and designing his gravity wagon, as well as yard art. He enjoyed every moment he got to spend with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Chuck was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Chuck is survived by his children: Kathryn L. Wadsley of Storm Lake, Joseph L. (Karen) Wadsley of Odebolt, Sadie (Shirlee) Hawkins (companion Joe Hatcher) of White Bear Lake, MN, Lona L. (Don) Munger of Storm Lake, C. Alan (Angie) Wadsley of Peterson, and Roy D. (LeAnn) Wadsley of Nemaha; grandchildren: Jenny (Ed) Witt, Mike (Cindy) Wadsley, Ben (Emily) Wadsley, Jake (Katie) Wadsley, Luke (Melinda) Wadsley, Aaron (Angela) Yender, Ann (Nate) Johansen, Kayla Wadsley, and Kaine Wadsley; great grandchildren: Wayne Wadsley, Grant Wadsley, Corey Wadsley, Juliet Wadsley, August Wadsley, Dana Wadsley, Carina Wadsley, Samantha Wadsley, Brielle Wadsley, Melaina Yender, Lillian Yender, Gunnar Johansen, Isabella Johansen, William Wadsley, Isla Wadsley, Charlie Wadsley, Izzy Wadsley, and Cristian Witt-Delcid; many extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie Wadsley; parents, Clarence and Florence Wadsley; and granddaughter Carrie J. Wadsley.
