SPIRIT LAKE - Despite the wet conditions on Monday night, the Storm Lake cross country teams competed in the Lakes Conference meet. The boys were able to put together their finest night of the season to take second place, only finishing behind LeMars. The Storm Lake girls finished seventh.

“We pulled it together and got it done!  Second place varsity guys team is the best we could hope for this season with a dominant LeMars squad.  The guys did great,” SL Coach Justin Mellmann said. The boys had three top 20 finishes led by Thomas Olson’s seventh place time of 17:04.51. Ethan James took 13th after a time of 17:20.36 and Matt Lenzmeier was 19th after a time of 18:04.23. Tyler Moon was 26th after a time of 18:40.08 and Tyler Dvergsten was 37th after finishing the course in 19:33.33.
