Dirt Knight Tour highlights another week of races

Hunter Marriot, racing out of Brookfield, Missouri, won the Dirt Knight Tour even at the Buena Vista Raceway on Wednesday night. There were a total of 40 drivers for the modified special event.

ALTA - It was a big night on Wednesday for the Buena Vista Raceway as the Arnold Motor Supply Dirt Knight Tour rolled into town which was also sponsored by Peterson Jewelry of Alta and Energy Transport of Storm Lake. A total of 40 modified drivers took part in the event, one coming as far as Phoenix, Arizona, with two feature races being the highlight of the night. The Buena Vista Raceway thanks Jim Sewer Service, Piercy Graphics, Roder Trucking, Bud Mattson Construction, Handyman Services and MS Doors for helping sponsor the additional classes last night.

The sport compact feature race saw eight drivers compete as Jarad Gross crossed the finish line first. Andrew Harris took second, Caine Mahlberg third, Jay Devries fourth and Corey Nammany fifth.

Shannon Anderson continues to bring home the first place honors in the Sybesma Graphics hobby stocks feature that has 18 drivers but only 11 finished. Kent Husted was second, John Briggs third, Dillion Magnussen fourth and Jeff Fink claimed fifth.

The IMCA sport modifieds saw 11 drivers all finish the feature race as Cody Thompson took home the top prize. Doug Smith finished second as Zech Norgarrd, Tim Rupp and David Calmer rounded out the top five.

The North Central Line Service stock car race was taken by Dustin Smith as he bested 15 other racers. Randy Brands, Devin Smith, Chris Ulrich and David Smith rounded out the top five, four racers were unable to finish.

The Wells Ag Supply modifieds saw their big night get two feature races. The A feature was taken by Hunter Marriot. Kyle Stricker, Joel Rust, Chris Abelson and Kyle Brown finished out the top five. The B feature was taken by Corey Dripps as Stacy Mills, Todd Boulware, John Parmeley and Jime Thies also took a top five finish.

This week at the BVR they will be hosting the bike races for the kids so please remember to bring bikes along. August 8 will see the nickel toss return, and August 15 will be Kid Appreciation Night.
