Sioux Central picks up 10th win of the year
EMMETSBURG - The Rebels picked up their 10th win of the season on Monday night as they were able to take a 7-4 contest over Emmetsburg.
Sioux Central got going early with a run in the top of the first. The scoring resumed in the top of the third with the Rebels getting five across, all five of those runs vital. They added another in the top of the fourth to go up 7-0. The E-Hawks attempted to make a comeback the rest of the game. They scored twice in the fifth, once in the sixth and once more in the seventh before Sioux Central was able to record the final out.
Rebel junior Jake Hanson got the win in 5.33 innings of work. He allowed three hits, three walks, two earned runs and sat down six batters on strikes. Senior Trace Blomberg went the rest of the way, giving up three hits, a run and put down three on strikes.
Blomberg also had two RBIs with a pair of singles at the plate. Senior Chase Jessen also had a duo of singles and a RBI. Hanson smacked a double and stole a base. Sioux Central showed patience at the plate, picking up seven walks in addition to having eight hits.
Sioux Central improves to 10-4 with a 4-2 record in the Twin Lakes Conference. Tonight they head to 8-1, 5-0 Alta-Aurelia.
