Habitat for Humanity of Buena Vista County proudly accepted a $1,915 grant from the Buena Vista County Foundation in the 2018 Spring Awards on May 5. The money was then used at Storm Lake’s Bomgaars to purchase an array of needed tools for the construction site. The affiliate’s numbers of volunteers coming out has more than tripled in this past quarter as many area businesses, organizations, and some local churches are enjoying the team-building experiences that come with serving local families build a home of their own. This grant allows Habitat to empower those community members who volunteer with us at the build site by having safe, and numerous tools available. Habitat is currently completing their 16th home on Oneida and will begin construction of a duplex on Oates Street in June.
