Armon Haselhoff, age 75, of Schaller, died Friday, September 8, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa. Funeral mass will be held Tuesday, September 12, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Schaller. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will take place Monday, September 11, 2017 from 5-7 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Schaller with a rosary at 5 p.m. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Schaller is in charge of the arrangements.
Armon George Haselhoff was born August 22, 1942 in Kansas City, Missouri the son of George and Martha Marie (Proost) Haselhoff. He was baptized, confirmed and received 1st communion at the Catholic Church.
Growing up, he attended school and graduated from Schaller High School in 1960. Following high school graduation, Armon attended Universal Technical Institute in Omaha, Nebraska. Armon then worked for Franz Implement in Schaller.
On November 20, 1965, Armon was united in marriage to Betty Seeley in Schaller. Together, they were blessed with two sons: Charles and Dennis.
Armon was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Schaller where he was an active member and volunteered for many church activities. Armon was a member of the Schaller Fire Department serving as Chief, Sac County 911 Board, and a Schaller City Council Member.
In 1984, Armon opened Haselhoff Sales and Service and operated until 2007.
In his spare time, Armon loved fishing and camping and trips to Branson with Betty. He enjoyed family gatherings with his siblings and treasured being close with them. His grandchildren were his life and he was very proud of each and every one of them. Armon will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Betty Haselhoff of Schaller, Iowa; children: Charles (Connie) Haselhoff of Ames, Iowa; Dennis (Stacie) Haselhoff of Rock Rapids, Iowa; grandchildren: Cassidy (Deanna) Haselhoff; Chase (Lyndsey) Haselhoff, Marcus Haselhoff, Mitchell Haselhoff, Grant Haselhoff; one great grandchild on the way; sisters: Loleta (Dean) Staver of Wichita, Kansas; Phyllis (Jim) Lonergan of Lincoln, Nebraska; Shirley Staver of Cherokee, Iowa; sister-in-law, Betty Haselhoff of Cherokee, Iowa; nieces; nephews; cousins; extended family and many friends.
Armon was preceded in death by his parents, George and Martha Marie Haselhoff; brother, Glen Haselhoff; brother-in-law, Paul Staver, and sister-in-law, Lois (Stan) Syndergaard.
