Progressive Agriculture Safety Day held in Sac City
Progressive Agriculture Safety Day was held May 2nd on the Sac County Fairgrounds with East Sac County, Wall Lake & Sac City Schools; OABCIG, Odebolt School; and Ridge View, Schaller School all participating in the day.
Presenters for day included – Kay Martin and Joani Boger from Loring Hospital teaching food safety, Vera Thomas from Early teaching Animal Safety, Laura Johnk from the Ida County Extension and Outreach Office teaching Chemical Safety, Megan Cook from the Sac County Conservation Board teaching water safety and Deputy Biede from the Sac County Sheriff’s Department giving a demonstration on the K-9 unit.
The East Sac County FFA students Allison & Ben Kolbe, Lane Snyder and Connor Tegels helped by setting up, taking down, being group leaders, and serving lunch.
Steph Erpelding, ISU, Sac County Extension Youth Coordinator, stated “The presenters did a wonderful job providing facts to the students about ways to stay safe, and the students enjoyed learning by participating in the hands on activities throughout the day.”
The students were provided lunch by the Sac County Extension and Outreach Office.
