Thanks for your support
When you host an outdoors event in the middle of July, you can expect it to be hot! Faith, Hope and Charity would like to thank everyone in Storm Lake and the surrounding communities for your generous support of our Taste of Storm Lake on Thursday, July 21st! With the extreme heat warnings in place, we were EXTREMELY grateful for all the wonderful folks who stopped by for dinner.
The overall turnout was better than we expected due to the heat, but we were very pleasantly surprised by the number of folks who came out for a dinner of smoked ribs, baked beans, chips, pop/water and ice cream.
While there were quite a number of meals to-go, Williams said they were pleased to see some folks take advantage of the canopy shade and the wonderful music provided by "Ball & Chain," the husband and wife musical team of Mick Polich and MaryBeth Andrews.
We had originally planned to have them perform at our Glow on the Green event and postponed due to heat. It's just a little bit ironic to say the least! We are truly grateful for them and the wonderful music!
Sponsors for Faith, Hope & Charity's Taste of Storm Lake were: Hy-Vee Foods, Inc., Frito-Lay, MetaBank, Chesterman Co., Blue Bunny Ice Cream, Snyder BBQ & Charlie Larson. The organization also received some additional help keeping folks in the shade with canopies from State Farm Financial Services, Stacey Eddie ChFC and the Buena Vista County Pork Producers.
We are so grateful for all of our wonderful sponsors, Mick and MaryBeth, and all the folks who came out for dinner with us!
