Mother's Day Victorian Tea

Tuesday, May 17, 2016

The historical Parker House hosted a mother daughter Victorian tea for the first time on Mother's Day. The indoor event allowed participants to explore a home dedicated to sustain the history of Spencer. With a phonograph playing an old vinyl album, the ladies and their young guests learned all about the tradition and etiquette associated with Victorian teas. Many of those who attended got into the spirit and donned period appropriate costuming. Top, the Hassman family enjoyed time together around the table, posing for period photos with various items in the home. Bottom left, Claire Christensen introduced a little modern technology into the event, capturing some time with her mother Susan on her cellphone. Bottom right, Caitlyn and Jill Barr dressed the part and enjoyed a quiet tea table for two. / Photos by Randy M. Cauthron
