Freedom Rock arrives in Cherokee

Tuesday, November 10, 2015

With equipment and labor provided by Hasselhoff Construction and Schoon Construction, a 20-ton rock was brought to the Cherokee County Courthouse grounds on Friday to serve as Cherokee County's Freedom Rock, a project that is being done in counties throughout Iowa. The rock will be eventually painted with patriotic themes to honor current and past service men and women. The painting is scheduled for 2017. Buena Vista County is currently looking for a rock for a similar project. / Photo by Ken Ross
