Tuesday, June 3, 2014

A report of a totally nude woman walking down the middle of Michigan Street brought out Storm Lake Police Monday evening, leading to a pair of methamphetamine arrests.

Officers responded to the 1000 block of Michigan, where an adult female had left her residence and was acting unstable. Officers found Jessica Sitzmann, 31, nude, walking down the center of West 9th Street, and took her into custody. She was taken to Buena Vista Regional Medical Center where she was evaluated for apparently being under the influence of methamphetamine.

An investigation was conducted and police allege that Sitzmann and her boyfriend Sean Grist, age 28 of Storm Lake, had been smoking meth shortly before the incident. Police say the two were also using meth in the presence of their 6 year old child as recently as Sunday evening.

That evening, officers conducted a consent search at the Michigan Street residence, seizing methamphetamine drug and several items of drug paraphernalia. Police further report the residence was extremely dirty and nearly unlivable.

Following an investigation Police arrested Grist and charged him with Child Endanger,Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was booked into the county jail on a $3,300 bond.

Sitzmann was treated and released at BVRMC at which time police transferred her to the county jail where the same charges plus Public Intoxication were filed against her. She was held on a $3,600 bond.

A report was filed with the Iowa Department of Human Services and the child was left in the custody of other family members.
