The Panthers vaunted press forced 22 turnovers on the night, and they received an impressive group scoring effort to finish one point shy of their season high.
Luke Lenhart got the Panthers rolling early, pouring in eight points in two and a half minutes for a quick 12-3 SM advantage. Four straight from Kennedy Drey, and a Trevor Landgraf free throw, pushed that lead up to 17-6. Drey pumped in six more to close his 10-point quarter and put St. Mary's up 25-8 after one.
Seth Hersom found is stroke for L-M in the second, knocking down three triples in the quarter, but the Panthers countered with two threes from Dillan Smith, one from Josh Demers and eight more points from Drey to lead 47-32 at half.
Four points apiece from Lenhart and Joe Sandhoff fueled a 10-0 to start the third. Lenhart would finish with 16 in the quarter as the wheels fell off the Chargers, who trailed 83-36 after three.
Lenhart finished 27 to lead the Panthers. Drey totaled 24, Smith 15, Demers seven, and Landgraf and Sandhoff had six apiece.
Hersom led Laurens-Marathon with 14 points and six rebounds. Tyler Stumbo had 14 points and four rebounds, and Ben Fuchs six points.
St. Mary's improves to 18-1 with the win. They head to Alta-Aurelia Tuesday and East Sac Friday. The Chargers drop to 10-9 with the loss. They head to West Bend-Mallard on Monday.
