A three-pointer from Fisher near the four-minute mark of the first half put the Beavers up by double-digits for the first time in the contest at 23-12. Gilley then made a jumper right before the first-half buzzer sounded and gave the team its largest lead at the half (26-14), while holding the Dutch to only 16 percent shooting.
Central made a run to start the second half, getting a three-pointer to cut the deficit to just two at 30-28 with five minutes gone by. After a bucket from freshman Jasmyn Flynn (Council Bluffs, Iowa/Abraham Lincoln) pushed the lead back up to four, the Dutch drilled another three to get back within a point before taking the lead at 33-32, giving them their first advantage since it was 5-4.
There were then five lead changes over the next minute before BVU bumped the margin to five with 11 minutes left. BVU led by as much as six before the Dutch slowly clawed their way back, taking the lead at 53-52 with under five minutes to go and neither team led by more than three until Gilley's bucket made it 60-55 with 40 ticks left.
Alyssa Schwartz turned in a game-high 16 points to lead Central, which had beaten BVU 74-61 on Monday night.
Buena Vista is now 8-11 overall (1-7 IIAC) and looks to make it back-to-back wins when the team travels to Simpson College on Wednesday night for a 6:00pm contest.
