ALTA - Manson Northwest Webster jumped out to a 21-9 first quarter lead over Alta-Aurelia Friday, and they would stretch to 41-23 at half, and 62-31 after three during a 67-41 final.
University of Northern Iowa commit Ellie Herzberg knocked down 10-of-22 from the field, and 7-of-10 at the line, on her way to 28 points for the Cougars. She added four rebounds and nine steals. Faith Troshynski added 19 points and five assists for Manson NWW (15-2).
Micah Barnes led Alta-Aurelia in the loss with 11 points and four rebounds. Taler Stanton had eight points and five boards, Cristena Heschke seven points and three rebounds, Tayler Rohwer three points and three rebounds, Kelsi Snyder three points and two assists, Steph Robbins three points, four rebounds and three steals, and Katie Turnquist, Gracie Winterhof and Jenna Snyder netted two points apiece.
Alta-Aurelia shot 13-of-34 as a team, including 1-of-3 from three point range and 14-of-24 at the foul line.
Manson Northwest Webster hit on 25-of-53 attempts and were 14-of-24 at the foul line as well.
The Warriors (3-14) are on the road tonight to take on Laurens-Marathon. They remain on the road Friday at #2 Newell-Fonda.
