Wednesday, January 30, 2013

Iowa Farm Bureau and Iowa State University (ISU) Extension and Outreach are hosting an event for young farmers from northwest Iowa on Feb. 11 at 12 p.m. in the lower level of Farmers Coop Society in Sioux Center.

"We recognized an opportunity to reach young farmers who face the challenges of farming today. We want to help guide and give them the tools they need to succeed," said Dave Stender, ISU Extension Swine Specialist.

The event begins with a noon meal followed by guest speaker Chad Hart, ISU Extension Economist and Grain Market Specialist discussing the 2013 outlook and risk management options. A tour of the Farmers Coop Society Feed Mill follows the discussion ending at 4:30 p.m. There is no cost to attend but participants are asked to pre-register online at www.extension.iastate.edu/plymouth.
