A reminder to seniors at Storm Lake and St. Mary's High Schools that the deadline for submitting a scholarship application to Storm Lake Dollars for Scholars is fast approaching! Any senior planning to attend a two-year or four-year accredited college, university of vocational school is eligible to apply for a scholarship. The application process can be completed online at www.StormLake.dollarsforscholars.org.
Applications must be completed by Feb. 15 as students will not be able to apply after this date. A timetable and step-by-step data entry instruction is included as you will need to speak to your school guidance counselor and personal reference so that they may complete their part of the application to meet the deadline.
Storm Lake Dollars for Scholars chapter has implemented the application process online, meaning we can do away with paper scholarship applications for good - and you can do all of your applying online. Via ChapterNet, provided by Scholarship America® (the national scholarship organization that we're a part of), this online tool allows students to input their general information and have it all in one convenient place while going through the application process. ChapterNet's simple, straightforward design also helps students find scholarships they might not have found otherwise-- and since all of the student's basic information is already in ChapterNet, applying for multiple scholarships is faster and simpler.
ChapterNet isn't just an application portal, either. In the Student Dashboard, students can view their progress and explore local chapter opportunities, scholarship listings and matches; there are also links to national news and resources that provide help with the college process. Finally, ChapterNet helps students find volunteer and internship opportunities, additional financial aid tools, college success resources, and even allows students to export a resume!
Included on the website is a list of the local Storm Lake Dollars for Scholars scholarships, a suggested timetable, step-by-step data entry instructions, details on how your scholarship will be scored and an e-mail link for any questions you may about the application process. A hard copy of step-by-step instructions is available at the guidance offices in both high schools.
