St Mary's girls dropped by Pocahontas Area on Homecoming, 59-37

Monday, January 28, 2013

STORM LAKE - Winning their fourth game in a row, Pocahontas Area spoiled the St. Mary's girls Homecoming, handing the Panthers a 59-37 defeat Friday night.

The Panthers started strongly, leading 15-14 after one, but they would net just six points during a dismal second half to drop their ninth contest out of their last ten.

Pocahontas Area (8-10) rode the hot hand of Macey Bales as she turned in a game-high 20 points on the night. Hannah Stafford added 11 points, Autumn Radig had 10, and Bailee Taylor turned in seven.

Jasmine Demers led the Panthers with 12 points. Riley Lenhart turned in nine, and Mackenzie Laven and Trish Lenhart had six apiece.

St. Mary's drops to 4-13 with the setback. They'll be back at home again on Monday night as they host Remsen St. Mary's.
