Alta-Aurelia wrestling goes 3-1 in final home meet

ALTA - The Alta-Aurelia wrestling team hosted their fourth and final home meet Thursday night, finishing 3-1 as they topped West Bend-Mallard, 66-6, Southeast Webster, 65-0, and East Sac County, 60-6, while suffering a loss to Prairie Valley, 42-26.

Against Southeast Webster, the Warriors received forfeit victories from Colten Larson at 106, Cody Cameron at 132, Ben Stange at 138, Manny Murillo at 160, Jackson Rosenthal at 170, Christian Jarvis at 182, Joe Rodriguez at 195, Garrett Van Houten at 220 and Neal Felton at 285. Junior Molina won by tech fall over Scott Bryce, 15-0, at 145, and Dylan Ohlson won by fall over Brad Hemmestad in 1:04 at 152.

Against East Sac, Larson, Molina, Ohlson, Rosenthal, Jarvis, Rodriguez, Van Houten and Felton all won via forfeit. Cameron won by fall in 1:30, Stange lost by fall iln 2:50 to Colin Haberl, and Murillo won by fall in 59 seconds over Quentin Ackerman.

Against West Bend-Mallard, the Warriors swept through with all forfeit victories, minus their own forfeit at 113.

Against Prairie Valley, Larson lost by tech fall to Spencer Johnson, 15-0. Cameron lost a major decision to Logan Klingson, 17-3, Stange lost by fall to Brandon Ure in 5:26, Molina won by fall over Wyatt Hanna in 1:08, Ohlson pinned KC Bockoven in 3:36, Murillo won by tech fall over Brett Nelson, 15-0, Rosenthal won a 2-1 decision over Tom Nahsen, Jarvis lost by fall to Douglas Jorgensen in 2:53, Rodriguez lost by fall in 2:16 to Grant Bockoven, Van Houten lost a 4-0 decision to Matthew Streit, and Felton won by fall in 36 seconds to Justin Ure.

Van Houten leads the Warriors with a 34-8 record heading into their final meet of the year next week. Cameron is 26-16,Murillo sits at 24-17, Ohlson is 22-16, Larson is 17-17, Rosenthal 13-3, Molina 10-7 and Jorge McDonald 8-2.

Alta-Aurelia, 9-15 in dual action this season, closes out the regular season on Tuesday night at Ridge View.
