Instructed by Sarah Dvergsten, the 60-minute fat-burning class uses barbells to quickly tone and condition muscles.
After an exhaustive study, BodyPump was verified by the University of Auckland as providing the fastest body fat loss of any fitness class.
BodyPump is held Tuesday at 5:15 a.m., Thursday at 9:00 a.m. and 5:35 p.m. and Saturday at 8:15 a.m. Individuals wishing to attend the Saturday class are encouraged to call 12 hours in advance.
There is no extra charge for Fitness and Health Center members. Non-members can either choose a full membership or pay $10 per class.
The Fitness and Health Centers offers a wide variety of fitness classes for all ages and levels, including Awesome Abs, Body Tone, Zumba, Zumba Gold, Senior-cise, Interval Shape-Up, Step Aerobics, Boot Camp, Turbo Kick, Total Body Burn, Yoga Fit, Baby Club (0-18 months) and Fit Kids Active Play (2-5 years). Classes are held Monday through Saturday, ranging from 5:15 a.m. to 6:35 p.m.
Unsure of what class to try? The Fitness and Health Center will be hosting a week of free fitness classes March 4-8: Zumba (March 4), BodyPump (March 5), Zumba (March 6), Yoga (March 7) and BodyPump (March 8).
The free classes will be held from 5:35-6:35 p.m. each night.
Members who bring a non-member will receive a free T-shirt, and great door prizes will be available.
