Raptors edged by OA-BCIG, 47-42

Monday, January 28, 2013

IDA GROVE - The Ridge View boys hung close all night, down two after one quarter, and one at halftime, but they were unable to get over the hump as they dropped a 47-42 road contest at OA-BCIG Tuesday night in the Western Valley Conference Tournament.

"This was a hard fought rivalry game, and I was proud of how our guys played," said Ridge View head coach Ken Slater. "We were patient and moved the ball well for some good shots. We didn't have the best shooting night, but our defense kept us in the game. OA-BCIG was able to come out in the third quarter and they went on a 8-0 run. We made a run in the 4th quarter to get the game to within three points, but OA-BCIG was able to hold us off and get the win."

Daniel Jeckell led the Raptors with 10 points and three rebounds. Ryan Garthoff had 11 points, Joe Tokheim had seven points, five rebounds and two assists, and Jesus Nava netted seven points.

The Raptors return to tournament action tonight.
