ESTHERVILLE - Playing their third ranked opponent in a row, the Storm Lake girls fell to Class 3A's third-ranked Estherville-Lincoln Central on the road Tuesday night, 68-24.
It was an improved showing for the Tornadoes after an 86-17 setback at home on December 11th.
"Better scoring output for us compared to the first game," said Storm Lake head coach Mel Fisher. "We are thankful this stretch of top 10 opponents is over and we continue to build for games at the end of the week. We challenged the girls at half time to pick one part of their game to work on that will help us notch a win at the end of the week."
Brenna Richter led the Tornadoes Tuesday night, turning in 10 points on a 4-of-4 shooting effort. Chyann Smith followed with eight.
The Tornadoes (0-15) have two of their best remaining shots of snapping their two and a half year losing streak this week as they are on the road tonight to take on Pocahontas Area (6-10) before returning home Friday to host Emmetsburg (1-13).
