Slow start dooms A-A girls

SAC CITY - The Alta-Aurelia girls were neck-and-neck with East Sac County over the final three quarters, but they weren't able to overcome a 23-5 deficit after one quarter as they fell on the road Friday to the Raiders, 62-41.

The Raiders (11-5) were led by 23 points from Kaitlin Bass as she knocked down six threes on the night and added three steals. Mak Ernst had 15 points and six assists and Shae Blum had 11 points and four steals.

Micah Barnes led the Warriors with 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting. Taler Stanton had nine points and 11 rebounds, Steph Robbins had six points, Kelsi Snyder five and Val Hernandez four.

The Warriors fall to 3-12 with the loss. They play host to Sioux Central tonight and Manson Northwest Webster Friday.
