LAKE CITY - The Sioux Central boys dropped to 4-9 on the road Friday night at South Central Calhoun as they dug a 17-point first-half deficit in a 58-43 loss to the Titans.
The Rebels trailed 15-8 after one, and 35-18 at half, before going on to outscore SCC by two in the second half.
It was the third loss in the last four games for the Rebels, who finished 19-of-45 from the field and 0-of-10 from three point range.
Austin Glawe led the way in the loss, knocking down 8-of-14 for 18 points, 12 rebounds and two blocks. Dallas Heuton had nine points and five rebounds, Chris Ripke had six points and three rebounds, and Tim Saunders had four points and three rebounds.
Nathan Christensen led the Titans with 25 points on the night.
"We needed more energy at the start," said Sioux Central head coach Steve Tjaden. "It wasn't helped by some outside shots just not falling. Our second half showed much more life, which was nice to see. We need to pick up our intensity in these next two very important weeks."
The Rebel girls also fell, dropping them to 9-6 on the season with a 37-31 setback.
Taylor Fahlander had 10 points and two steals to lead the way. Nicole Hamilton had nine points, four rebounds and two assists, Becca Herwig scored six, and Hallie Ehlers had three points, three rebounds, three assists and four steals.
The Rebels held a one point halftime lead but scored just nine points during the second half to suffer the loss.
Sioux Central will look to bounce back on the road Tuesday night as they visit Alta-Aurelia.
