What's happening at the Newell Library

Wednesday, January 23, 2013

Winter is upon us and we all dream of warmer weather this time of year. But, since we are participating in indoor activities now, this is a great time to remind everyone that we have board games and card games available at the library. All ages are invited to come in and play them here.

There is also a jigsaw puzzle set up for anyone to work on. No need to be bored at home. Come in to the library and see what we have to entertain you. Don't forget, we are open on Monday nights until 8 pm.

New -- we have a movie license and will be having an after school movie on Thursday, Jan.31 at 3:30 p.m. Come and watch 'The Smurfs' and eat some popcorn.

Speaking of new at the library -- the young adult area has been expanded to make it a more comfortable nook for all young people. This is worth coming in to see. Make use of the extra space and socialize here at the library.

New books in the young adult fiction section include: "Between the Lines" by Jodi Picoult and Samantha Van Leer; "The Matched" series by Ally Condie; "The Bartimaeus Trilogy" by Jonathon Stroud; "Mortal Instruments" series by Cassandra Clare; "Caught" (book five of the "Missing" series) by Margaret Haddix; "The Chronicles" of Vladimir Tod; "Blue is for Nightmares" series by Laurie Stolarz; "Dream House Kings" series by Robert Liparulo; "Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul III"; "Teens Talk Tough Times"; "Guiness World Records 2013"; "Jam Session" books on Barry Bonds, Kobe Bryant, David Beckham, Ken Griffey Jr., and Tom Brady.
