Herzberg, MNWW down Panthers

MANSON - UNI recruit Ellie Herzberg poured in 17 of her game-high 25 in the first half as the 9th-ranked Cougars rolled past St. Mary's Friday, 68-29.

The Panthers hung tight early, trailing just 15-11 after one quarter of play, but Herzberg poured in 13 points in the second quarter to open up a 40-22 halftime lead. It was a 60-27 game after three.

Faith Troshynski added 10 points for the Cougars, and Hunter Jud added nine as they improved to 13-2 on the season with their seventh straight win.

Jasmine Demers led the Panthers with 15 points in the loss. Mackenzie Laven and Trish Lenhart had four points apiece, and Riley Lenhart, Rachel Todd and Emily Ivey scored two apiece.

The Panthers drop to 3-11 with the loss and travel to LeMars Gehlen Monday.
