Warrior wrestlers split at Sioux Central/Laurens-Marathon

SIOUX RAPIDS - The Alta-Aurelia wrestling team was on the road Thursday night in Sioux Rapids, splitting a pair of dual as they topped the Charging Rebels, 48-21, and fell to Manson Northwest Webster, 68-12.

Against SxC/L-M, the Warriors picked up wins at 106 where Colten Larson won by forfeit, Cody Cameron won by fall over Justin Spangler in 58 seconds at 132, Junior Molina won by fall over Chase Wells in 1:11 at 145, Dylan Ohlson won by fall over Jake Simpson in 3:40 at 152, Manny Murillo won by fall over Ashton Anderson in 2:19 at 160, Jackson Rosenthal won by fall in 4:50 over Matt Koenig at 170, Christian Jarvis won by forfeit at 182, and Garrett Van Houten topped Tyler Stockwell in 43 seconds at heavyweight.

The Charging Rebels picked up forfeit victories from Wyatt Shannon at 120, Riley DaSilva at 126 and Cameron Graff at 220. Caleb Smith also topped Ben Stange 7-6 at 138.

Against Manson NWW, the Warriors notched just two wins at Van Houten won by fall over Bryce Birkey in 39 seconds and Rosenthal won by forfeit at 170.

The Charging Rebels had an equally tough time with Manson, falling 70-9. Graff won a 7-5 decision over Tanner Peterson at 195, and Anderson won by fall in 2:47 at 160.

Sioux Central/Laurens-Marathon visits Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn today. Alta-Aurelia will also be in attendance.
