Evelyn M. Boese
Evelyn M. Boese, age 92, of Aurelia and formerly of Storm Lake, died Jan. 14, 2013 at Sunset Knoll Care and Rehab Center in Aurelia.
Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 18 at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Storm Lake. Burial was in the Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery in Storm Lake. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
Evelyn Marie Lange was born June 18, 1920 at Lincoln Township in rural Storm Lake, the daughter of William and Louise (Peterson) Lange. She was baptized on July 4, 1920 at the Zion Lutheran Church in rural Storm Lake where she was later confirmed on March 25, 1934.
Growing up, she attended school at Lincoln Township #8 in rural Storm Lake through the eighth grade.
On June 18, 1938 Evelyn was united in marriage to Merlyn W. Boese at St. John Evangelical and Reformed Church in rural Newell. To this union three daughters and one son were born: Beverly, Jerald, Barbara and Lynette. They raised their family on the farm in Grant Township.
Evelyn was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Storm Lake where she was very involved. She worked as a Tupperware salesman for several years. In her spare time, Evelyn enjoyed making quilts and decorating cakes of all types. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters: Beverly and husband, Ernie Glienke of rural Aurelia; Barbara and husband, Paul Posivio of Calmar; and Lynette and husband, Randy York of Waco, Texas; grandchildren: Brian and Cindy Glienke of Aurelia; Dale and Kris Glienke of Aurelia; Keith and Marcy Glienke of Aurelia; Lois and Roger Morris of Spencer; Brent and Tami Posivio of Iowa City; Jackie and Todd Feller of Cedar Rapids; Justin and Danielle York of Houston, Texas; Jamie and Ed Brunson of Germany; Josh and Katie York of Houston, Texas; great-grandchildren: Adam (fiancÚ, Amy Kennedy) Glienke, Stacie Glienke, Courtney Glienke, Kyle and Ashlee Glienke, Jason and Brandon Glienke, Levi, Dana and Tanner Morris, Michael and Luke Posivio, Scott Feller, Kelsi and Sydney Brunson; as well as a host of other extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Merlyn; son, Jerald; great-grandson, Cody; sisters: Mary (Otto) Beckfield, Mildred (Norman) Gnewuch, Irene (Orville) Ehlers; and brother, Albert (Irene) Lange.
