The Iowa Central Dance Team received top honors at the Iowa State Drill Team Association competition in Des Moines in the beginning of December! This is the seventh consecutive year that the Tritons, led by second year coach Cassidy Vermeer, have participated in the competition. They competed in the Community College Hip Hop division as well as the Community College Jazz Division. In their hip hop division, Iowa Central competed with four teams resulting in a second place finish and in the jazz category against two teams finishing with a first place placement. The team spent countless hours perfecting every inch of their routines and their performances and placements definitely showed that! Competing at Wells Fargo is always an exhilarating experience for the Iowa Central Dance Team. It allows the team to grow and improve their skills as well as showcasing their amazing talent to the rest of the state. Members of the team are: Mariah Bowman, Winterset; Lindsey Cavanaugh, Storm Lake (back row fifth from the left); Kayla Dye, Knoxville; Jessica Faust, Winterset; Kara Franken, Earlham; Erica Garland, Grimes; Kasey Jorgensen, Webster City; Samantha Lennon, Fort Dodge; Amanda Marlin, Melcher/Dallas; Daisy Nottleman, Winona, Minn.; Taryn O'Tool, Fort Dodge; Karli Payer, Lake City; Victoria Peck, Storm Lake (front row second from the left), Rebecca Perryman, Pleasantville. /Submitted
