The City of Alta will be participating in the Live Healthy Iowa 10-week wellness challenge this year! The challenge runs from Jan. 28 -- April 5 . The goal of the challenge is to get people active and moving. The City of Alta has signed up as a "group" through the www.lifehealthyiowa.org website. They will be giving incentives and prices to groups that are registered through the City of Alta group online.
Over the course of the 10 weeks, teams (2-10 people) will track activity minutes through the Live Healthy Iowa website. The registration fee is $15 per participant with a coupon available from Megan Peterson. With this fee, you will receive a t-shirt, weekly motivational emails, personal online tracking package, unlimited access to recipes, workouts and health information, chances to win city, county and state-wide incentives and prizes, and a one-year magazine subscription.
To get started:
1. Build your team of 2-10 people and choose a team name. Gather the name, email address, t-shirt size and payment of each member.
2. Go to www.lifehalthyiowa.org and click 'Join Today'.
a. Single teams click 'Register You Team'
b. Enter the City of Alta Group ID
3. Complete the registration fields and submit your online payment
4. Make a plan with how your team is going to accumulate the most exercise minutes in 10 weeks!
