STORM LAKE - Storm Lake had a chance to jump up the Lakes Conference leaderboard with a win over LeMars Friday night, but the green and white had their roughest showing in league play of the season, dropping a 67-45 ball game to the Bulldogs.
The Tornadoes were in contention at half, down just 30-18, but a dreadful third saw them dig a 47-22 hole they were unable to recover from.
Nic Seaman had a team-high 16 points in the loss to lead Storm Lake. Kuony Deng put in nine and Aaron Krier six. The Tornadoes struggled to find Ethan Kenkel, who finished with just four.
Brendan Collins led the Bulldogs with 17 on the night. Kyle Dolph had eight, Gabe Rahn seven, Tyler Borchers six and Tyler Paulsen five.
LeMars improves to 8-3 overall and 6-1 in the Lakes Conference, while the Tornadoes drop to 5-6 and 4-3 in league play.
The Tornadoes will look to bounce back on Tuesday night as the Tornadoes welcome in Western Christian (11-1).
