A-A boys storm out of break
BURNSIDE - The Alta-Aurelia boy's came out of the break firing, turning in a season high in points scored in a 74-24 rout of Southeast Webster-Grand.
""It was a great team win," said A-A head coach Randy Bissen. "You never know how it is going to go after Christmas break but our guys came out and played hard right from the start. We turned them over early and got out and ran. We passed the ball really well and attacked the basket in transition. We have a big week coming up with St. Mary's and South Central Calhoun so hopefully we can keep improving."
Titus Letzring came off the bench to lead three in double figures as he finished with 14 points on 7-of-9 shooting. He added six rebounds. Mitchel McDonald hit 6-of-8 for 12 points and eight rebounds, Jayden Van Berkum had 10 points and three steals, Colton Ballantyne had seven points and three rebounds, Zach Sliefert scored six, Ross Friedrich scored six, Jayson Van Haaften had five and three assists, and Nathan Flaherty, Tyler Larson, and Ben Wetherell scored four apiece.
The Warriors hit 32-of-56 on the night and made 7-of-13 at the line. They cleaned up on the glass with a 43-17 advantage and added 19 steals. SEW was held to 7-of-29 shooting on the night as they fell to 0-9.
The win pushed Alta-Aurelia to 4-6. They hit the road for a matchup with #2 St. Mary's tonight.
